Conductors are materials that allow electric current to flow through them easily because they contain many free electrons that can move from one atom to another. Common electrical conductors include copper, aluminium, silver, and gold. Copper is widely used in electrical wiring because it has excellent conductivity, is relatively affordable, and is easy to work with. In a typical electrical circuit, conductors such as wires provide the path through which current travels from the power source to electrical components and back to the source.

Copper is a good electrical conductor. When the circuit is energized, electric current flows through the copper conductor.

🐦 Why the Bird Is Safe
In this simplified demonstration, the bird is not providing a conductive path between the energized conductor and ground or another voltage. Therefore there is no significant voltage difference across its body.
